Alternatives study for the substantial refurbishment of SEAT’s cogeneration plant in Martorell

Study of alternatives that would allow SEAT to decide the best solution for the substantial refurbishment of its cogeneration plant that was operating since 1994. Its cogeneration plant was based on a 13 MW combined cycle with an LM1600 gas turbine, a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) with after burner, able to produce 55t/h of steam (63 bar(g), 450ºC) and a B&V 7.5MW steam turbine.

The study considered that the LM1600 gas turbine had no continuity in the market, the new NOx emissions requirements and a proposal for the improvement of the cycle efficiency.
